Security Cameras

The cameras and systems that we install include varying levels of the advanced smart features listed below. This enables the user to have an increased level of security.

4K recording resolutions

Cameras with IR (Infrared) capabilities have a range of between 10 and 30 metres.

Certain cameras that utilize Light-Hunter chipsets allow full colour vision at night.

The more premium options available also utilize AI (artificial intelligence) systems to alert/record when only a human or vehicle is detected, ignoring wildlife and animals.

Commonly asked questions

How can I watch live CCTV cameras?

At Ely Electrical Ltd we want to make the use of your CCTV as pain free as possible. The system that we install allows one or more users to download and log into a free application on their smart device. This could be a tablet or phone, from which you can live stream, playback and change settings to your CCTV system from anywhere in the world, providing that you have an internet connection.

How much does it cost to have CCTV installed?

Installing CCTV and the price of it greatly depends upon your needs. With such a varied range of products available, we could not give an estimation on price without visiting the property first to understand your specific requirements. There are some companies out there that will give you an online price for a kit or a specific number of basic cameras and that works well for them. Here at Ely Electrical Ltd, we feel that having a tailor-made solution to your security needs is far more beneficial to the customer and helps to reduce common issues following the installation.

Types of security camera

sec 1

IP Turret Cameras

IP turret cameras are the most popular camera used by professional installers in both domestic and commercial uses. They are smaller and more resilient to damage than some of the more generic bullet cameras that are available on the market. They offer a wide range of choices when it comes to recording resolutions and smart features.

sec 2

IP Dome Cameras

IP dome cameras are generally designed for the more security conscious. They have a protective (usually glass) bubble around the camera lens, giving it the advantage of being able to withstand vandalism to a much higher degree than the standard turret camera. However, they may compromise on some of the lighting features that you may have. The dome can sometimes cause IR bounce back, glare from the sun and condensation build up in certain weather conditions.

sec 3

IP Eyeball Cameras

IP eyeball cameras are the next level up from the IP turret cameras in terms of raw video quality. While they may have to compromise on some of the extra features, they certainly make up for it with the quality of the picture. IP eyeball cameras can make good general-purpose cameras but can also work well in commercial premises where more detail may be required.

sec 4

IP Bullet Cameras

IP bullet cameras are what you would normally imagine as the (standard) camera on the market. They can produce brilliant images, encompassing all the smart features of the other cameras. Some of the benefits can include better zoom capabilities, extended IR range and can also act as a visible deterrent, due to their size and shape. Considerations to remember with these cameras are that they tend to be quite inviting to nesting wildlife and they are easily vandalised.

sec 5

IP Fisheye Cameras

IP Fisheye cameras are a little more specialist and used in situations where the operator requires a panoramic (360 degree) view. Their size also makes them the most discreet out of all the cameras available, without limiting on picture quality. They are also more vandal resistant as they usually incorporate an outer dome but this can bring its own set of problems as described in the IP dome section.

sec 6

IP PTZ Cameras

IP PTZ cameras stands for pan, tilt and zoom. They enable the operator to have the maximum amount of control over the area that they require to be covered. Using a control platform, the operator can move them allowing the widest viewing range possible without compromising on quality. Some IP PTZ cameras include smart features such as auto tracking.
